Do’s & Don’ts

Below is a list of best practices and things to avoid when using any of Ōnin’s logos.

Do

  • Nothing
  • Leave the mark as is

  • Change to unbranded or unapproved colors
  • Swap out typefaces

Effects

Do

  • Use tasteful drop shadows
  • Use transparencies to watermark with our logo

Don’t

  • Adjust the transparency of the logo, marking it illegible
  • Apply and effect that will hurt the readability of the logo

Recoloring

Do

  • Use solid color versions within our color system

Resizing

Do

  • Make sure to scale proportionally, “hold shift and drag from corner”

Don’t

  • Improperly scale logo by stretching, squishing or in any way alter the proportions of the set logo.

Low Contrast

Do

  • Use shadows to pull white logos to the foreground
  • Use contrasting colors between the background and logo

  • Put a white logo on overexposed photo
  • Put a logo with similar colors to the background
