Do’s & Don’ts
Below is a list of best practices and things to avoid when using any of Ōnin’s logos.
Altering the Logo
Do
- Nothing
- Leave the mark as is
Don’t
- Change to unbranded or unapproved colors
- Swap out typefaces
Effects
Do
- Use tasteful drop shadows
- Use transparencies to watermark with our logo
Don’t
- Adjust the transparency of the logo, marking it illegible
- Apply and effect that will hurt the readability of the logo
Recoloring
Do
- Use solid color versions within our color system
Don’t
- Adjust the transparency of the logo, marking it illegible
- Apply and effect that will hurt the readability of the logo
Resizing
Do
- Make sure to scale proportionally, “hold shift and drag from corner”
Don’t
- Improperly scale logo by stretching, squishing or in any way alter the proportions of the set logo.
Low Contrast
Do
- Use shadows to pull white logos to the foreground
- Use contrasting colors between the background and logo
Don’t
- Put a white logo on overexposed photo
- Put a logo with similar colors to the background
